New Delhi. The popularity of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door is increasing every day so much that the SUV has already exceeded 23,000 reservations. The ‘Mountain Goat’, as many call it for its powerful off-road capabilities, is one of two SUVs the country’s largest automaker is launching soon, the other being the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
With Jimny and Franks, Maruti Suzuki India plans to boost its SUV portfolio. The company also sells other popular SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The two new SUVs will be sold at Nexa points of sale. While we’ve already covered the Fron in detail, now let’s do the same for the Jimny.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny launched in India
Both Jimny and Frons will launch in India on the same day. Its release may happen in the first or second week of April. The SUV was on display at the 2023 Auto Expo on January 12.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny variants
In general, there are four variants of Nexa cars: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. However, the Jimny will be available in top-spec Zeta and Alpha variants with a number of features. Savvy shoppers won’t need to shell out extra money to add more features on the secondary market.

Features of Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Speaking of the exteriors of the upcoming Jimny five-door, the SUV has features like LED headlamps with washer, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, retractable and power-adjustable ORVMs, and 15-inch alloy wheels. Some of the features like a hardtop, drip rails, clamshell hood, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel are standard.

Based on a ladder frame chassis, the Jimny measures 3985mm long, 1645mm wide, 1720mm tall and has a 2590mm long wheelbase. Ground clearance is an impressive 210mm. The usual 208 liter boot can be expanded to 332 liters by folding down the rear seats. The SUV has an approach angle of 36 degrees, a ramp break angle of 24 degrees and a departure angle of 50 degrees. We expect the five-door Jimny price in India to start from around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
