New Delhi. A big deal has been reached between the country’s largest electric car maker Tata Motors and taxi service provider Uber regarding electric cars. Tata will now supply 25,000 electric cars to Uber. This will be a sedan model, which has been christened the Express T. This is claimed to be the largest deal ever made in the country regarding electric cars. According to the statement issued by Tata, Uber will now name this electric sedan in its premium service category. Uber is said to be operating these electric cars in Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Talking about the price of the car, it starts from Rs. 13.04 lakhs at the showroom and goes up to Rs. 14.98 lakhs. This car is available with two battery packs.

Shailesh Chanda, MD, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said: “We are delighted to sign this MoU with Uber, which will help in our effort to promote sustainable mobility. Along with this, people will also get a better EV travel experience. At the same time, Uber Chairman Prabhjit Singh said that our efforts to provide a stable and better travel experience in the country will be of great help after the partnership with Tata.
