Tests began last year to increase the speed of the metro in a range of 22 km. Now, after inspection by the Delhi Metro Railway Safety Commissioner, the speed increase of the metro will be approved. This line is being extended from Dwarka Sector-25 to the International Convention Center of India.
Current speed 80-85 mph
At present, the speed of the metro on this line is 80-85 km per hour. But when the speed is 120 km. If it happens to be every hour, it will take only 15 minutes to reach Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3 from New Delhi railway station.

Dwarka Sector 25 (IICC) is an underground metro station. It is an extension of the currently operating Airport Express line connecting New Delhi railway station to Dwarka Sector 21 through Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport. With the completion of this section, the New Delhi Airport Express Line to Dwarka Sector-25 (IICC) corridor will be 24.70 km long.

The station will have five entry/exit points with 14 escalators, 5 elevators and stairs to facilitate passenger movement. Like other stations on the Airport Express line, the new station will also have full-height platform screen doors.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, high frequency tension clamps are being installed on the track of this corridor and the track is being equipped with equipment to control the speed at all times and here the speed of the metro will be increased in different phases. There are 6 metro stations on the Airport Express line, including New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Aerocity, Airport Terminal 3 and Dwarka Sector-21.
