New WhatsApp feature: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out picture-in-picture mode for video calls to all iOS users. With this feature in the new update, users can now multitask during WhatsApp calls without pausing their videos, Wabatinfo reports.
In addition to picture-in-picture mode, the new update also includes the ability to attach captions to documents and longer topics and group descriptions to make describing groups easier. The ability to use picture-in-picture mode during WhatsApp calls has been widely rolled out to everyone in the stable version of the iOS app.
The report states that users will therefore need to update the app from the App Store to check if the feature is already enabled for their WhatsApp account. In December last year, it was reported that the messaging platform started rolling out picture-in-picture mode for video calls in iOS beta.
Meanwhile, last week, it was reported that WhatsApp was rolling out a new feature in iOS beta that would allow users to share up to 100 pieces of media within a chat, which was previously limited to just 30. This feature is useful because users will eventually be able to share entire albums, making it easy to share memories and moments.
