According to the new rule of the Ministry of Consumption, gold will not be sold without a 6-digit alphanumeric stamp as of April 1. Just like there is a 12-digit code on the Aadhaar card, in the same way gold will have a 6-digit stamp code. This is called a Hallmark Unique Identification Number, i.e. HUID. The ministry says that now only the 6-digit stamp will be valid.

The government made the marking system mandatory

This is a triangular mark. The second sign speaks of Purity. That is, it shows how many carats of gold the jewelry is made of. The third symbol is a six-digit alphanumeric code called a HUID number. It was implemented in 256 districts in the first phase and 32 more districts were later included. The government has decided to implement it in 51 more districts.
