According to a railway press release, Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector S Nand Kumar collected Rs 1.55 crore by imposing fines in 27,787 cases of travel without proper tickets and reserved luggage. This is one of the highest earnings of any ticket verification staff to date.

Chief Ticket Inspector Roseline Arokia Mary has also achieved a milestone by collecting Rs 1.03 crore in fines, making her the highest paid ticket checking clerk in Indian Railways.
In addition to this, the senior ticket examiner Sakthivel collected Rs 1.10 crore as a fine. In a statement, the Railways thanked the staff and called on passengers to travel with the proper tickets.
